ZAP GOES GREEN
At ZapMyTax, we are committed to helping protect our health and the environment
– we’re going green! Here are some of the things we are doing in the office to make
our world a healthier, happier place…
- We use Electronic Storage: in our business we absolutely have to produce paper documents
when we file your property tax grievance – but in our office, we use electronic
storage whenever possible. And, our files backup to an offsite service so the need
for hardcopy storage is greatly reduced. When we do need to print something, we
always “Print Preview” to ensure we are printing the document correctly, and not
printing blank pages (if you’ve ever printed a website you know what we mean!).
- We recycle our printer cartridges.
- We use recycled paper with a high percentage of post-consumer content and the minimum
of chlorine bleaching when we do need to print a document. Or, even better, we create
PDFs of documents and…
- We send Emails: Since you’re online now, it makes sense to communicate with you
via Email. Please, always consider the environment before printing an email!
- We turn it off: we shut down our computers, printers, scanners, and other electronic
equipment at the end of the day, because “standby” settings continue to draw power
even when not in use. And, of course, the lights go out when we leave in the evening.
And our skylights let us use fewer lights when we’re in the office.
- We drive low-emissions vehicles like our ZapCar, the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid
gasoline powered vehicle in the United States.
