Peter J. Cohen – Founder

Peter’s career in real estate spans over 25 years.  He has renovated, developed, built and sold tens of millions of dollars of Long Island real estate.  When he realized the importance of property being assessed fairly, Peter founded Property Assessment Correction Group (PACG).

During Peter’s earlier years of developing property, the same top 2 questions were asked – “what’s the asking price” and “what are the property taxes”.  After successfully grieving his own property taxes and those of close friends, starting a property tax consulting business was the natural next step for the passionate Long Island real estate entrepreneur.

To this day, Peter is still advocating for Long Island homeowners.  He is constantly researching and obtaining the latest property information and the technology to use it.  Peter has also, along with a team of professional tax reduction consultants, designed state-of-the art appraisal software.

His latest achievement is ZapMyTax.com, an online tax reduction service enabling Suffolk County residents to authorize PACG to file property tax grievances on their behalf.  ZapMyTax.com is fast, easy, and “green,” significantly reducing the amount of paperwork necessary for homeowners to challenge their property tax assessments, and obtain reductions in their property taxes.

     
Laurie Fey  

Laurie J. Fey – CEO

Laurie joined Peter in 1992 after deciding that the New York City commute wasn’t “family friendly.”  Laurie left her advertising career behind in pursuit of conquering the Long Island real estate market.  She has been financing, buying, developing and selling real estate with Peter for the past 17 years. 

After managing property and projects for several years with Peter, it was without hesitation that she accepted the CEO position with Property Assessment Correction Group.  Laurie is leading the way to ensure that homeowners are educated about their most valuable asset and making full use of PACG’s tax reduction service.  “It is my goal to be a part of something that helps people.”

Laurie continues to keep her hooks in real property and looks forward to spending her free time with her husband, 2 sons and her Wheaten Terrier, Rocco.

     
Joyell  

Joyell Ellow – Director of Property Evaluation

Joyell started out at the bottom of the real estate ladder and climbed her way up by selling, buying, renovating, leasing, and managing residential and commercial real estate.  She has a great deal of experience in zoning and negotiating on behalf of homeowners and business owners.

She has researched Long Island from the western end of Nassau County to Montauk.  Joyell’s excellent evaluation skills enable her to maintain an 85% success rate in Suffolk County alone.  She enjoys negotiating and managing thousands of property tax assessments and grievance cases per year. 

When not speaking to homeowners, county representatives or Judges, Joyell provides comic relief in the office and likes to decompress with her friends and family.

     
Liz  

Liz – Property Evaluation Support

After simultaneously working as a social worker and obtaining her Masters, Liz left her social work career to start a family.  When it was time to choose the next direction of her career, Liz knew it had to be something that would keep her close to what matters most, her family.

As a Long Island real estate agent, Liz is a perfect fit in our property tax consulting and tax reduction services team. She supports her fellow tax reduction consultants with detailed property tax assessment knowledge, constant dedication and a relentless drive to keep it all flowing. 

In her spare time, Liz likes to play tennis and work on her tan at the beach. 

     
Barbara  

Barbara – Court Coordinator

Barbara spent many years as a Consumer Affairs representative for a Fortune 500 company based in New York City.  She has enjoyed much professional recognition, including the coveted “You Can Make a Difference” award.

Barbara prides herself on making sure her clients fully understand their case.  She always adds that special personal touch and that is why she is so popular among our clients. Her quick smile and helpful attitude has made her known in the office “Saint Barb”.

Barbara is able to juggle a barrel full of client information and manages to keep it all “court” ready.  When she’s done with PACG, she heads home to her family and her daily walk with her Chow, Ozzy.

     
Maria  

Maria – Director of Customer Service

Maria spent the first part of her career in the advertising industry working on accounts ranging from consumer products to computers.  After raising her kids, she re-entered the workforce and had worked for a real estate property management company before joining the PACG property tax consulting team in 2004.

Known around the office as “411”, Maria provides knowledge of our property tax reduction services and the tax grievance process to both clients and staff.  She wants all of her clients to have a full understanding of their tax grievance case and makes sure that all our tax reduction consultants are kept informed of the latest property tax laws and grievance procedures.  Her goal is to provide the outstanding customer service PACG’s clients deserve. 

When not calculating tax savings, or corresponding with clients, Maria is happy to cook up a delicious meal for her family.

     
 

Susan – Customer Service Support

Susan spent most of her professional life in customer service, keeping clients happy.  She has the ability to maintain calm in the midst of the storm.  Her tenacity drives her to make sure her clients understand the intricacies of their property taxes and of our tax reduction services.

Susan is also a perfectionist who will spend countless hours making sure every client’s file is complete and accurate so that our tax reduction consultants always have the essential information they need when they need it.

After a day in the office, Susan skips home to her beautiful grandchildren to get her fill of smiles.

     
 

Judy – Client Financial Coordinator

After spending most of her career as an Executive Assistant for one of the top 10 financial companies in NYC, Judy came aboard PACG to revamp the whole billing department.  She makes sure that all refund checks are properly processed and that each client that takes advantage of our tax reduction services is apprised of his or her tax savings. 

In her free time, Judy enjoys working out with her personal trainer, and spending time in Montauk.
